In Process Anti-Static Additives
IN PROCESS Antistatic Additives are those that have been formulated to eliminate the static charge generated by the flow of powder across the mold surface during the early stages of the rotomolding cycle. This static charge is the cause of the non-uniform color distribution problem within a molded part that is normally referred to as “pigment swirling.”
The problem is most prevalent where dry blending of the colorant is the method of incorporation. IN PROCESS Antistatic Additives based on both conventional and conductive antistatic agents are available from Teknor Color Company. The product identified as H2STAT is a patented in-process antistat containing a conductive antistatic additive.
