Chem Polymer Accomodates Growth

Ft. Myers, Florida - Chem Polymer Corporation is in the final stages of a $2 million expansion project at their Ft. Myers, Florida headquarters. Included in the project are a new 25,000 square foot building, a new 57-mm NFM twin screw extruder and a 20,000-pound blender. Building completion is expected by April 5th with the extruder start up scheduled for May 1st.

"We are experiencing a surge in new business", states Evan DeWulf, Vice President. "Obtaining QS9000 registration late last year has provided tangible benefits from both manufacturing and commercial perspectives". Currently, 60% of Chem Polymer's business is derived from the automotive industry.

Nylon 6, 66, Acetal, and PBT are the primarily compounds produced at this facility. "Our parent is committed to growing our ETP presence in North America. This is just the beginning" states DeWulf. With the new twin screw, annual capacity at the Ft. Myers facility will be boosted to over 30 million pounds.
