PAWTUCKET, RI, U.S.A., August 27, 2007: A new bulletin provides an overview of the diversified range of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compounds available from Teknor Apex for medical devices, it was announced today by the company’s Thermoplastic Elastomer Division. The bulletin is available for downloading at www.teknorapex.com/tpe.
The two-page data sheet covers medical-grade compounds in three different families: 1) Monprene® styrenic tri-block copolymer-based products, available from super-soft 30 Shore 00 to 50 Shore D and from opaque to water-clear; 2) Tekbond® specialty TPEs for over-molding onto engineering-polymer substrates; and 3) Uniprene® thermoplastic vulcanizates, which perform and feel like cured EPDM but process with the ease and speed of thermoplastics.
The new literature describes the high degree of purity exhibited by these compounds, the broad range of properties for which they can be designed, their sterilizability and suitability for over-molding, and their availability in customized formulations at all volume levels.
For customers that operate globally, Teknor Apex can supply identical formulations of any medical-grade TPE from manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Europe, Singapore, and China.
