New Teknor Apex Division Gives Away an Eagle Go-Kart 1932 Roadster during NPE 2003
CHICAGO, June 23, 2003: Resin and additive manufacturers, automotive and appliance OEMs, and other plastics raw material specifiers looking to outsource production can discover a unique new supply option at NPE 2003, it was announced today by Teknor Specialty Compounding. Exhibiting for the first time at an NPE, the year-old toll and custom producer of thermoplastic compounds and additive blends is highlighting the extensive experience, manufacturing capacity, and technological resources that it draws on as a division of Teknor Apex Company (Booth 9755).
Teknor Specialty Compounding operates manufacturing facilities in Ohio and Texas and regularly accesses the capacity of eight other Teknor Apex plants in the U.S. and one in Singapore. It is prepared to supply customers at multiple locations in the U.S. and around the world, according to Jonathan Riley, Business Manager.
"What sets Teknor Specialty Compounding apart from conventional toll compounders is its access to the vast fund of formulating experience, process expertise, and analytical capabilities that has made Teknor Apex a leading manufacturer of compounds and additive formulations," Riley said.
The product capabilities of the Specialty Compounding Division fall into four areas:
o Compounds based on polyolefins, styrenics, vinyls, engineering resins, thermoplastic elastomers, and specialty resins such as fluoropolymers.
o Additive concentrates providing UV and heat stabilization, impact
modification, lubrication, and other functions.
o Powder blends based on up to seven powder and two liquid ingredients.
o Pulverized polyolefins - equipment is available for grinding compounds based on ethylene polymers and copolymers.
As part of its NPE 2003 presentation, Teknor Specialty Compounding is conducting a drawing among visitors to its exhibit for an Eagle go kart replica of a 1932 roadster. The single passenger go-kart features a 3.5 hp engine, a fiberglass body, a fully automatic centrifugal clutch and a heavy-duty steel frame.
