Automotive
Teknor Apex offers the automotive industry a program capable of serving as a single source for manufacturers that use vinyl, nylon and thermoplastic elastomer compounds.
Special capabilities of the three product divisions:
- Vinyl. Apex® Compounds are mainstays in instrument panel skins; interior trim; seals and gaskets; window encapsulations; over-molded levers, knobs, and grips; scuff plates; body side moldings; and SAE wire jacketing. Flexalloy® vinyl elastomers include grades that provide resistance to grease, oil, and aggressive fluids in demanding automotive applications.
- Nylon. The company's wide range of Chemlon® and Beetle® glass-reinforced, mineral-filled, impact-modified, and flame retardant nylon compounds are used in under-hood, under-chassis, exterior, and interior components.
- Thermoplastic Elastomers. Commercial applications of Teknor Apex TPEs include ducts, hoses, knobs, strut covers, airbag covers, grips, gaskets, seals, wheel well liners, instrument panel skins, and interior and exterior trim.
