Nylon 66 Mineral or Mineral/Glass Reinforced
Teknor Apex manufactures industry proven nylon 66 compounds utilizing mineral and glass fiber or straight mineral formulas. Applications with challenging part geometries or larger surface areas may be prone to excessive deflection from geometric shrinkage. Fit and function and performance characteristics may be become difficult to control with some part geometries. Mineral acts as an excellent filler to minimize post mold part deflection also knows as warpage. When the benefits of glass fiber are needed along with uniform shrinkage - mineral and glass fiber compounds are often utilized. Our technical team has the ability to perform a data driven deflection analysis during the design stage. Changes may be proposed from this analysis and proven with additional analysis to minimize quality problems before the tool goes into production. Teknor Apex is well suited to customize different filler percentages to meet the requirements of the applications.
