Apex® Calendered PVC Film for Medical

Teknor Apex has manufactured calendered film for the last five decades, and continues to use that experience for innovation of film production to this day. Our Medical grade films are formulated to meet the requirements of USP Class VI and ISO 10993-5 and can be sterilized using EtO, gamma radiation, or steam sterilization. Our film can also be embossed with finishes such as glossy, matte, and taffeta.

Ideal applications for medical film include ID bracelets, hot/cold packs, inflatable pads, fluid bags, enteral-feeding bags, and drainage bags.

Apex Film - Medical Grade Series

Teknor Apex's film grades range in hardness from 68 to 92 Shore A durometers and in thicknesses of 5 through 30 mil thickness. Films can be calendered in widths up to 60 inches, and can be slit down to 2 inches in width. Available in traditional and non-phthalate formulations with the ability to be sterilized by EtO, gamma radiation, and/or steam sterilization.

Medical Device

Our extensive library of formulations allows our films to meet regulatory and medical standards using only ingredients listed by the FDA in 21 CFR. The superior low-temperature performance with brittle points as low as -40°C enable our films to remain flexible in products like therapy packs. Conversely, excellent high-temperature performance allows products to withstand microwaving or boiling.
