Monprene® TPE for Drinking (Potable) Water Applications

Clean water is a fundamental human need, essential for drinking, cooking, and basic hygiene – for our overall good health and well-being. National agencies around the world have instituted health and safety standards that protect the quality of drinking water. Legislation and regulations specify acceptable microbial and chemical levels of safe drinking water. Water distribution systems must therefore minimize any opportunities for contamination. In addition to minimizing contamination, components used in drinking water systems cannot impair water quality with unwanted odors, flavors, or colors.  For flexible components such as gaskets, seals, and membranes, Teknor Apex offers Monprene® thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) for direct and indirect contact with drinking water. The Monprene RG-14000 series was specifically designed to meet Germany’s stringent drinking water requirements, including the KTW guideline and DVGW Technical Standard W270.
