August 2, 2010

SINGAPORE, August 2, 2010: Stanly L.K. Tan is the new managing director of Singapore Polymer Corporation (SPC), it was announced today by Bertram M. Lederer, executive vice president of Teknor Apex Company, SPC's corporate parent.

"Since SPC became part of Teknor Apex in 2001, there has been a dynamic synergy between our teams in the U.S. and Singapore, generating an extensive two-way transfer of technologies and know-how," said Mr. Lederer. "Stanly's wealth of management experience in the plastics industries of China and Southeast Asia will be of critical importance for guiding SPC during a time of growth and diversification."

Originally from Singapore, Mr. Tan has 19 years of experience in the Asian plastics business. Prior to coming to SPC, he spent twelve years with DSM Engineering Plastics, most recently as manager of the polyamide-6 business in the Asia-Pacific region. He was instrumental in the start-up of the new polyamide-6 plant in China.

Mr. Tan assumed the leadership of SPC on August 1 upon the retirement of Cheah Sin Hua, who was with SPC from its founding in 1969 and was managing director at the time of its acquisition by Teknor Apex.
