Teknor Apex Automotive Group Continues Expansion in Asia with Appointment of Kyung-Jin Min as Market Manager

PAWTUCKET, RI, U.S.A., May 5, 2010: The Automotive Group of Teknor Apex Company has appointed Kyung-Jin Min to the new position of market manager for Asia, signaling the continued expansion of the company in the region, it was announced today by industry manager Steve McCormack. 

Mr. Min will work directly with Asia-Pacific OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers and be responsible for business development and marketing of Teknor Apex’s automotive products. These include vinyl, thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), and engineering thermoplastic (ETP) compounds produced at facilities in China, Singapore, and the U.S.A. 

The Automotive Group provides manufacturers with a single source for these diverse materials. KJ brings more than two decades of specifically automotive experience, including materials technology, product engineering, and application development, said Mr. McCormack. His appointment marks a new stage in the growth of Teknor Apex as a full-service supplier to the automotive industry in Asia, offering a broad range of material options, extensive technical support, and the services of a dedicated sales and marketing team.

Mr. Min comes to Teknor Apex from BP Korea. Prior to that company, he spent 17 years in sales and marketing of ETPs for GE Plastics (now Sabic Innovative Plastics) and six years as an engineer at the Kia R&D center in Korea. In these positions he was responsible for developing new projects for automotive OEMs, including the successful launches of interior panels, door panels, and headlamp lenses. Besides his native Korean, Kyung-Jin Min is fluent in English and Japanese. He holds an MBA from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management and a bachelors degree in chemical engineering from Dankook University, both in Seoul, Korea.
