Teknor Apex Promotes Sachin Sakhalkar to the Position of Vice President in Charge of Global TPE Business

PAWTUCKET, RI, U.S.A., July 24, 2018: Teknor Apex Company has appointed Sachin Sakhalkar to be vice president for TPEs.

Mr. Sakhalkar will have global responsibility for the company’s TPE business, including compounds offered under the Elexar® (electrical and electronics applications), Medalist® (medical devices), Monprene® (consumer and industrial products), and Sarlink® (transportation) brands. Teknor Apex manufactures TPEs at eight locations in the U.S., Belgium, Germany, and Singapore.

“Sachin has already played a central role in the strong growth of our TPE business in the Americas and will build on this success in his new global position,” said Suresh Swaminathan, executive vice president. “Under his leadership the business will continue to build upon its diverse TPE product portfolio within Europe, Asia Pacific and other world regions.”

Mr. Sakhalkar joined Teknor Apex in 2005 as a new business development manager for the TPE Division. In 2011 he was promoted to the position of director of strategic marketing and new business development, and in 2015 he became business manager for the TPE business in the Americas. Before coming to Teknor Apex, he spent seven years with Basell Polyolefins (now LyondellBasell Industries) as manager of strategic marketing and innovation.

Sachin Sakhalkar holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Clemson University, an MBA in business administration from the R.H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, and a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai.
