Apex® Flexible PVC for Transportation
Apex® Flexible PVC compounds are available for injection molding and extrusion in the transportation industry. These versatile materials can be specifically designed to meet the performance and regulatory requirements of the end use product for sealing systems, interior, exterior, under the hood, and wire and cable applications.
Teknor Apex holds numerous global automotive approvals at all major OEM's in North America, Europe and Asia. Special formulations include self-texturing compounds, Class A critical color compounds and UV-stable compounds that exceed two-year FL and AZ outdoor exposure requirements.
Apex 1503 Series - Injection Molding PVC for Interior Applications
These PVC compounds offer an excellent balance of cost and performance. With smooth surface appearance, easy colorability, and adjustable gloss levels they also have superior scratch and mar resistance. They are typically used for knobs, mats, and overmolded applications. Other prime applications include interior arm rests, interior roof handle grips and parking brake levers.
Apex 1523 Series - High Flow PVC for Injection Molding
These compounds offer high flow properties for excellent moldability and are available from 66 Shore A to 42 Shore D. They are ideal for window encapsulation applications.
Apex 1545 Series - Extrusion Grade PVC
These compounds offer an excellent balance of cost and performance and are available from 66 Shore A to 42 Shore D with high gloss / smooth surface appearance. They are also available in “Self Texturing” options. Common uses include roof ditch, belt line, body side applications and sunroof seals.
Apex 1555 Series - Extrusion Grade PVC - Wire & Cable
These compounds have a smooth surface appearance, are highly flexible, abrasion resistant and exhibit great cold flex performance for wire and cable applications.
Apex 1573 Series - Injection Molding PVC for Mats & Pads
These compounds are a great lower cost offset to TPE / SEBS format applications for mats and pads.
Apex 1583 and 1585 Series - Molding and Extrusion Grades PVC for Drain Tubes
These compounds are a high performance PVC option for extrusion applications. Available in clear, natural, black and other colors as desired.
Apex 1593 and 1595 Series - Molding and Extrusion Grades PVC for Fluid Resistant Applications
These compounds are a high performance PVC option for injection or extrusion applications and can be a lower cost offset to engineered resins.
